Facilities

The Leo Lee Arts Centre is truly a multi-purpose facility. From the well-appointed and classically designed front foyer and balcony area, to the comfortable 604-seat theatre, and arts classrooms and studios beyond, the Leo Lee Arts Centre has been designed to provide unique and creative opportunities for the school community and beyond.

The welcoming front entrance to the Arts Centre, and many of the classrooms and studios, overlook the beautiful Ap Lei Chau Harbour and South China Sea beyond, providing an inspirational backdrop to events, performances and creative activities inside.

Featuring visual arts classrooms and Drawing Studio, music and recording studios, and drama studio backing onto the working theatre, the Leo Lee Arts Centre is truly a dynamic and creative learning space for students.

The theatre itself has been designed to not only host music, dance and dramatic performances, but is also fully equipped to support presentations onstage using the cinema-size screen and state-of-the-art audio/visual technical equipment, operated by fully trained theatre and technical staff.

  • Visual Arts Studio: Grade 9 - 12

    There is a wonderful creative energy and flow happening in the level 5 Visual Arts studios. There are 3 visual arts teachers and two studios for grade 9-12 students. The studios are flanked by a large professional Upper School Art Gallery, which features student work that is celebrated and rotated regularly throughout the year. Attached to each of the larger studios are separate breakout studios where students in grades 11 and 12 may work independently throughout the day,and are close enough to benefit from teacher assistance. Students are supported and encouraged to use the studios during lunch and after school.

    Located on the seventh level of the Leo Lee Arts Centre with views to the Ap Lei Chau Harbour and beyond, the Theatre Arts Studio is located directly behind the stage and doubles as a backstage area and green room support for events and performances onstage.

    As a fully-equipped teaching area, the Theatre Arts Studio has been designed to not only operate as a classroom but can also function as a small, independent performing space of its own.  With blackout curtaining and unique lighting concept, students can create an intimate theatrical experience for their audiences in the Studio.

    With the theatre’s state-of-the-art audio & visual system, cinema-size screen and projection system and uniquely designed stage area, the Leo Lee Arts Centre auditorium has already hosted presentations from world-class universities, performances by world-renowned choirs, authors and music educators, environmental organizations, and more.

  • Lower School Music Studio

  • Visual Arts Studio: Grade 7 - 8

    With a magnificent view overlooking the South China Sea, the Grades 7 and 8 Visual Arts Studio is located on level 9 of the LLAC. This large airy studio features an open concept and includes an outdoor balcony area. Students find the climb up to level 9 'invigorating' and once there, the creative energy inspires solid foundation work. Students are supported and encouraged to use the studio during lunch and after school.
