CDNIS is delighted to announce that, in conjunction with the annual Man Hong Kong Literary Festival (www.festival.org) taking place from March 8-18, 2009, we will be hosting one of Canada’s most eminent novelists and poets, Ms Margaret Atwood, at the Leo Lee Arts Centre on March 12, 2009 from 6.30pm-8.30pm. CISPA will join CDNIS and the LLAC in co-sponsoring this event, which will be unique to the Literary Festival program, and a tremendous opportunity for the CDNIS community to meet this Canadian icon. Ms Atwood will be on stage “in conversation” with fellow Canadian author, Charles Foran, on the subject “Devastated Environment: Not Just Science Fiction”. The two authors will discuss sustainable development and the need to take action. This performance will be followed by book signings and a wine reception in the LLAC Lobby. Tickets for this event will be sold to students, parents and members of CDNIS community through the online LLAC Box Office, which can be accessed via the school website, or through the LLAC Box Office directly at 2518-5877. Adult tickets are priced at $280 and student tickets are $220. A maximum of 4 tickets per family can be purchased. Please note: This is not an event based on Atwood’s books. Due to the nature of the conversation subject, the event is specifically recommended for students who are Grade 11 and above.
