HONG KONG PREMIERE OF THE AWARD-WINNING DOCUMENTARY: Nicky's Family
Sponsored by Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival
For nearly 50 years, Nicholas Winton kept secret how he personally and by his own initiative organised the rescue of 669 mostly Jewish children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia on the eve of WWII in an operation now known as the Czech Kindertransport. Often called the "British Schindler", Sir Nicholas is alive and well at the age of 102, and his story is still changing the world. Today, thousands of students are following in his footsteps, inspired and motivated by Nicky's selfless act of kindness and compassion. Veteran Canadian television journalist Joe Schlesinger, himself one of the rescued children, narrates this amazing story of one man's courage and determination.
Best Documentary, Montreal World Film Festival, 2011 Forum for the Preservation of Audio-Visual Memory Award, Jerusalem International Film Festival, 2011 Audience Award, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, 2011
